Academics

Saint Mary’s College High School educates young people of diverse socio-economic backgrounds and varied academic experiences through our challenging and engaging college-preparatory program.  Inspired by the mission and vision of St. John Baptist de La Salle, our curriculum and instructional practices are informed by current educational research on how students most effectively learn.

Saint Mary’s understands that young people have forever approached the classroom from many different academic “entry points” and with a rich variety of learning styles. We guide our students to acquire the knowledge and skills they will need for post-secondary studies, identifying their academic strengths and addressing their areas of growth. Our approach supports students as it challenges them to realize their academic potential.

Essential to Saint Mary’s educational approach are the relationships between educators and students.  Saint Mary’s teachers are more than imparters of information and judges of academic performance: they are advocates for their students, guiding them toward deeper insight, committed to partnerships with young people and their parents to support students as they pursue their intellectual and moral growth.

Our Course Catalog is a compendium of all the courses offered for this academic year. It includes the course prerequisites required to pursue more advanced study in each discipline. The Academic Policies Handbook contains the policies, procedures, and program descriptions which guide and shape our Academic program . Please refer to both of these documents should you have a question.
