President's Message

Saint Mary’s College High School is a Lasallian Catholic school, guided by the teachings and heritage of the De La Salle Christian Brothers. Community and our Lasallian Core Principles are essential to who we are and how we structure programs, experiences, and education to the students and families we serve.

Lasallian education is relational, spiritual, and holistic. As Lasallian educators we are called to accompany our students along their journey of academic, spiritual, and social learning experiences. At Saint Mary’s our approach to Quality Education empowers the whole person and prepares them for college, career, and beyond.

As a byproduct of our beautiful East Bay location, we are blessed with a naturally diverse community. Students, families, faculty, and staff, bring unique backgrounds, cultures, thoughts, and religions that help us engage in conversations and interactions that teach various points of view and require critical thinking. At Saint Mary’s College High School, we recognize the importance of an Inclusive Community and Respect for All Persons, striving to foster an environment that acknowledges each other’s identities and provides spaces and activities where members feel they are welcome, respected and belong.

As modeled by Gospel teachings our Catholic Lasallian lens calls us to care for the poor and disenfranchised. We embrace Concern for the Poor and Social Justice by building programs that promote empathy, service to others, and advocacy. Remembering that we are called to love one another and recognize that we are all children of God.

Grounded in the principle of Faith in the Presence of God, students are cared for and led to a deeper understanding of God’s Holy presence in their daily lives. Prayer, reflection, meditation, and spiritual growth opportunities form the lives of the young people entrusted to our care. This Lasallian expression of faith allows us to continue to advance in the ever-changing environment of today’s world.
