Girls Basketball Competes at West Coast Jamboree
December 26th - 31st - The Saint Mary’s girls basketball team competed in the West Coast Jamboree, finishing the tournament 1–2 and battling through a strong field. The Panthers opened with a win over Branson, then fell to Heritage in the semifinals before closing the event in the 3rd place game against Alisal.
Game 1: Panthers Open Strong with Win Over Branson

Saint Mary’s opened the West Coast Jamboree with an impressive performance against Branson High School, setting the tone defensively from the opening tip.
Relentless pressure forced 20+ turnovers, allowing the Panthers to establish their offense early. Saint Mary’s led 21–16 at halftime, with seniors Gabby Clement, Eli Kudemus, and Charli Davis accounting for 16 of the Panthers’ 21 points.
The defensive intensity continued in the second half, as Saint Mary’s pulled away to secure the win.

Game 2: Panthers Fall to Heritage in Semifinals

In the semifinals, Saint Mary’s faced a tough Heritage High School squad. The Panthers’ defense kept them competitive early, utilizing a 1-2-2 half-court press to disrupt Heritage’s rhythm.
Offensively, Saint Mary’s struggled to find consistency, scoring just three points in the opening quarter. In the second half, Heritage capitalized on second-chance opportunities, pulling away after grabbing more than 25 offensive rebounds.
Final Score: Heritage 65, Saint Mary’s 38

Friday, November 28, 2025 - Fresh off the Thanksgiving holiday, Saint Mary’s returned to competition in the opening game of the Pinole Valley Thanksgiving Classic, taking on the Bears of California High School. The Panthers wasted no time shaking off the holiday break, erupting for a season-best 28 points in the first quarter to seize early momentum.
Both teams cooled off in the second quarter, each tallying just seven points, but Saint Mary’s carried a 35–21 advantage into the halftime break behind senior Eli Kudemus, who led all scorers at the half with 15 points.
The third quarter proved to be a challenge, as the Panthers came out flat and managed only four points while the Bears surged with 15 to close the gap. But Saint Mary’s regrouped and responded with a strong fourth-quarter push, pouring in 20 points to secure a 59–52 victory.
Senior leadership anchored the win, with Gabby Clement contributing 12 points and Eli Kudemus finishing with a game-high 26.
Next up, the Panthers hit the road to compete in the Arcata Tournament. They will open against the host school, Arcata High, with tip-off set for 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Saint Mary’s Girls Basketball launched the 2025–26 season in commanding fashion Friday night on Hagler Court, rolling to a decisive 67–27 victory over San Rafael.
Fresh off a 20-win campaign and a North Coast Section Division III Championship, the Panthers wasted no time setting the tone. Saint Mary’s exploded to a 23–3 first-quarter lead and carried a dominant 42–14 advantage into halftime, controlling both tempo and intensity throughout the matchup.
Three Panthers scored in double figures, highlighting the team’s balanced offensive attack. Eli Kudemus led with 15 points, followed closely by Bea Branagh with 14 and Alana Rice with 12. Senior leadership was also on display, with Charlotte Davis adding 9 points and Gabby Clement contributing 8.
With a strong statement made in their home opener, the Panthers now shift focus to Tuesday’s Foundation Game at Lick-Wilmerding as they aim to build on their early-season momentum.
