Jade Tate

 

Head Cheerleading Coach, Jade Tate, embarks on her first year in her new role at Saint Mary's

College High School who is dedicated to encouraging teamwork and spirit amongst her cheerleaders. Tate, a former cheerleader and even a cheerleader parent of two of her three children, has had the privilege of experiencing the thrill of competition, the camaraderie of teamwork, and the joy of inspiring others.  

 

Her goal as a coach is to foster growth, confidence, and teamwork in an environment that is inclusive and supportive. She wants her athletes to be able to reach their full potential on and off the mat. In addition, positive reinforcement, constructive criticism, and a focus on individual growth arethe cornerstones of her coaching approach. She also has a deep desire to do everything in her power to help her team establish a solid foundation, improve their skills, and instill a lifelong passion for the sport.

 

It is also a goal of Tate’s to provide her athletes with an environment that is fun, challenging, and engaging so that they can develop and thrive. Lastly, she is eager to collaborate with the team, establish lasting relationships, and create priceless memories.

 

Taija Dones

 

Assistant Cheer Coach, Taija Dones, enters her first year in the program at Saint Mary’sTD College High School alongside her mother & head cheer coach, Jade Tate. Born & raised in the Bay Area, Taija graduated from Salesian College Preparatory High School in 2013 with honors. Following her high school years, Dones would attend the University of Las Vegas, Nevada where she would earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology as a member of the class of 2017.

 

During her time at Salesian, Taija was heavily involved in the school community. On top of being an Honor Roll Student, she was also a member of the Varsity Cheerleading squad, the Junior Athletic Training club, and served as her Senior Class President. In 2011, Taija and her varsity cheerleading squad competed and won 1st place at the Jamz Nationals in Las Vegas, NV. 

 

Through the years, Taija has continued to display a constant commitment to excellence & promoting school spirit. Taija is excited for the opportunity to work with Saint Mary’s as a cheer coach & intends to leave a positive and lasting impression on the Lady Panthers.
