Saint Mary's Places 4th in TCAL Championships

TCAL ChampionshipsOctober 21, 2024—In a field that Saint Mary's has shown they can not only compete, but defeat. Saint Mary's traveled to Vallejo to compete at the Blue Rock Springs Golf Course in the Tri County Athletic League (TCAL) Championship Event.

The four teams competing today were - Albany High School, St. Patrick-St. Vincent (SPSV), Salesian and Saint Mary's. The Panthers would sweep SPSV and split with Salesian in the regular season.  Albany would be a battle both matches with the Cougars defeating the Panthers both times by 1 stroke.

Coming into today, Saint Mary's needed to be consistent on the course. However, they would struggle throughout the day, finishing in 4th place in the league championship event.  The surprise of the day was SPSV, who coming into the final hole was trailing the Panthers by two stokes.  However, SPSV would have their 5th golfer scored her best round of the season, squeezing SPSV into a 3rd place finish and pushing Saint Mary's into 4th place. The day ultimately went to the Albany Cougars who defeated everyone by 23, 28, and 33 strokes on the day respectively.
