Panthers Fall Short to #1 Liberty in NCS Playoffs

November 12, 2024—In the Varsity Girl’s Flag Football team’s first ever appearance in the North Coast Section Playoffs, the Panthers traveled to Brentwood, California to take on the #1 seeded Liberty Lions in the First Round of the North Coast Section (NCS) Playoffs.  The Lions were a team who finished their regular season with an overall record of 20-1 and both a state and national ranking of 18 and 31 respectively.

Even though numbers would show that the Panthers looked “overmatched”, the Panthers would not be overwhelmed by the moment and would put a valiant effort against what people would consider a “formidable” opponent. The Panthers would keep the game close with Lions thanks to touchdown receptions by Junior, Elia Kudemus, and Senior, Charlotte Ballard. However, it would not be enough as the Lions offense would execute when they needed to, giving them the 33-12 victory.

For their first ever season as a program, the Panthers would exceed expectations as they would win a Tri County Athletic League (TCAL) title, earn a trip to the NCS playoffs, and finish with an overall record of 12-1 and an undefeated league record of 11-0.

The Panthers will have a lot to look forward to next season as they will return a lot of their key players to the team for their 2025 campaign. Congratulations to Head Coach, Joe Lofton, and the players on a season to remember.

Panthers Sensational on Senior Day, Beat Jaguars 52-10

November 4, 2024—In the Varsity Girl’s Flag Football team’s final regular season home game in their first ever year of existence, they played host to the Jesse Bethel High Jaguars with hopes of not only prolonging their undefeated win streak to 11 games, but also winning their first Senior Day game.

In fact, the Panthers would not disappoint as they would play arguably their best game ever as the team would defeat the Jaguars in dominating fashion by the score of 52-10, scoring the most points in a game this year.

The offensive fire power was thanks to a handful of Panthers, especially from Seniors Marlowe Kuroki, who ran the ball well and had a reception on a successful two-point conversion try, Callie Ballard, who had a 60-yard touchdown reception, Zea Lindenbaum, who had a 30-yard touchdown reception of her own, Aiofe Shen, who would score on a 25-yard touchdown reception, and Neiyah Thompson, who have a five-yard touchdown reception and two two-point conversion receptions. Junior Quarterback, Gabriela Clement, would be terrific as she would throw for four touchdown passes. Juniors, Elia Kudemus and Kira Gant Hatcher, would have two receiving touchdowns and one 32-yard rushing touchdown on the day respectively. Lastly, Freshman Quarterback, Alexa Glover, would throw two touchdown passes of her own to cap of the offensive fireworks for the Panthers.

Following the victory, the Flag Football program would honor seven senior players as part of their Senior Day festivities—Marlowe Kuroki, Callie Ballard, Zea Lindenbaum, Sofia Toliver, Aoife Shen, Elsa Talarico, and Neiyah Thompson were all honored for their hard work and dedication to the program in its first ever season.

The Panthers will now wait to see what lies ahead of them as they will find out their seeding in the North Coast Section playoffs this coming weekend. Congratulations on a fantastic regular season Panthers.

Panthers Top RedHawks in Dominate Fashion 34-0

October 28, 2024—On a cool afternoon at Brady Park, the Varsity Girl’s Flag Football played host to the Vallejo High RedHawks in what would be programs second to last home game of their inaugural season. In fact, the Panthers would prove to be too much for the RedHawks as they would go on to defeat the RedHawks in very convincing fashion by the score of 34-0, earning their fifth shutout victory of the season.

The Panthers received contributions from a variety of their players, showcasing the true depth that this team possesses both on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. October 23, 2024—On a decent day in Vallejo, California, the Varsity Girls Flag Football looked to extend their unbeaten streak to 8 games with hopes of victory over the Jesse Bethel Jaguars in this Tri County Athletic League showdown.

In fact, the Panthers would do just that as they would ultimately defeat the Jaguars by the score of 36-20. With the defense having been arguably the strongest part of this team, it would be the Panthers’ offense who would light up the scoreboard thanks to the two-touchdown performance by Junior Quarterback, Gabriela Clement. Fellow Junior, Kira Gant Hatcher, and Senior, Marlowe Kuroki, would also have strong performances on the day to help the Panthers in the win.

The Panthers will now look to Saturday’s matchup when they take on the Jesse Bethel Jaguars, yet again, at John Swett High School in Crockett, California. The game is set for 11:00AM.
